Veterans Day Breakfast
Register now for the 22nd Annual Veterans hosted by the Office for Military and Veteran Students at Duquesne University, presented virtually due to the Covid -19 pandemic.

In this unsettled year, Veterans Day stands as a powerful reminder of our founding national ideal, E Pluribus Unum, “Out of Many, One.” Our virtual Veterans Day program will honor this motto by bringing our region together to celebrate the diversity of our veterans and military community. Join us as we thank those who’ve served our country to secure America’s promise of liberty and justice for all.

Our featured speaker is H. Lamont Gourdine, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and member of the Academy Football team. Lamont a seasoned Navy helicopter pilot has flown missing in support of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom and is a nationally recognized inspirational speaker.

The event begins at 8:00AM with a welcome by host Don Accamando, the Director of the Office for Military and Veteran Students, presentation of Colors by the Duquesne University Army ROTC Color Guard, National Anthem sung by Duquesne University music student, Dominique Theodore and Invocation by Duquesne University Campus Minister Fr. Bill Christy. Duquesne University President Ken Gormley will provide welcoming remarks before turning things over to the Chairman of the Veterans Leadership Program, Dr. Ben Stahl, who will thank our sponsors and introduce our guest speaker.

There is no charge for this year’s Veterans Breakfast, however, guests are welcome to make a monetary donation.

Proceeds benefit the five different partners of the Veterans Breakfast. (Duquesne University Student Veterans Scholarship Fund, The Veterans Leadership Program, The Veterans Breakfast Club, Shepherds Heart Fellowship and Veterans Home, and the Friends of DaNang)
