Lewis and Jane Gordon Mini-Conference on Decolonizing Methodologies and Disciplines
Lewis R. Gordon will be presenting "Decolonizing Philosophy of Race" at 1pm EST followed by a short coffee break.
Jane Anna Gordon will be presenting "Statelessness and Contemporary Enslavement: Some Methodological Reflections" at 2:30pm followed by a Q & A session for both presentations.

Jane Anna Gordon is the University of Connecticut at Storrs Professor of Political Science, with affiliations in American Studies, El Instituto, Philosophy, and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

Lewis R. Gordon is Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at UCONN-Storrs; Honorary President of the Global Center for Advanced Studies; Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; Honorary Professor in the Unit for the Humanities at Rhodes University, South Africa; and Distinguished Scholar at the Patterson Centre for Africa-Caribbean Advocacy at The University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica . He is the Visiting Phenomenology Scholar at Duquesne’s Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center and this year’s recipient of the Eminent Scholar Award from the Global Development Studies Division of the International Studies Association.

Lewis and Jane Gordon co-edit, The Journal Philosophy and Global Affairs, the Rowman & Littlefield book series Global Critical Caribbean Thought, and, with Sayan Dey and Rozena Maart, the Routledge-India book series Academics, Politics and Society in the Post-Covid World.
Both are authors of numerous books and articles.

Jane Anna Gordon's most recent books are Statelessness and Contemporary Enslavement (Routledge 2020), and co-editor (with Drucilla Cornell) of Creolizing Rosa Luxemburg (Rowman and Littlefield 2021)
